Basic Rules For Visitation

Hunt County Jail Visitation

       The Staff of the Hunt County Detention Center want you to feel safe and comfortable during your visit. However in order to make this possible we must insist you follow the rules of the Hunt County Detention Center.

       Visitation begins at 1:00P.M. and ends at 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, Wednesday and Friday. If the inmate you are visiting is an outside trustee, you may also include Saturday at 7:00 P.M. Sunday begins a new visitation week.

       

  • We are allowing shorts now however the rule is the can be no shorter than two finger widths above the knee. If this rule is continuously abused, we will go back to no shorts at all.
  • NO TANK TOPS, HALTER TOPS SPAGHETTI STRING TOPS, OR ANY KIND OF TUBE TOP. ALL SHIRTS MUST HAVE SLEEVES!!! If your shirt is revealing (or becomes revealing during your visit) you will be asked to leave and could possibly forfeit your right to visitation for up to 30 days.
  • NO MINI SKIRTS OR SUPER LOW RIDE JEANS OR PANTS OF ANY KIND!!!
  • No cell phones, pagers, books, purses, bags, food, drinks, etc. are allowed in the visitation room. The visitation officer must approve any papers and /or pictures.
  • NO monies of any type or property will be accepted for an inmate.
  • NO type of writing utensil, note taking material or books of any type.
  • If you are caught going into the visitation room without registering, you will be banned from visitation for 39 days.
  • All registered visitors must go in and come out a the same time. If visitors go in or leave at separate times, the inmate will be pulled from the visitation room.
  • Registration will begin at 12:30 P.M., with no further registrations taken after 4:30 P.M.
  • You cannot call in and register over the phone.
  • Each inmate is allowed 2 adult and 2 children visitors each visit, 1 visit per day, and 2 visits per week. We will not make exception for anyone!
  • There will be no vulgar or profane language tolerated in the lobby or visitation area.
  • All visitors must have a valid government or state issued picture identification card. ANYONE OVER THE AGE OF 16 MUST HAVE IDENTIFICATION. NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • Everyone must pull ONE number per inmate. If you are caught pulling numbers for other visitors, your visit will be denied.
  • If your name is not on the inmate's visitation list, you will not be able to visit. No exceptions.
  • If your number is called and you do not respond by the second call, you MUST pull another number, no exceptions.
  • If the officer calls your name for your visit and you do not answer by the second call you will forfeit your visit and ti will count as one visit for the inmate that week.
  • If you have been an inmate of Hunt County Justice Center or any state facility in the last (12) months, you will not be allowed to visit. NO EXCEPTIONS unless previously approved by the Chief Jailers or the Jail Administrator
  • If you currently have a warrant in Hunt County you will not be allowed to visit.
  • If you are caught dropping contraband, you will be banned from visitation.
  • We are not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen items. While you are visiting we will not watch your things for you. You will need to place them in the front lockers or leave them in your car. NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • You are responsible for your children. Please do not let them run around the lobby and/or outside. If your children do go outside you, you must remain with them at all times. This includes inside the lobby as well as the bathrooms. If your children prove to be too disruptive before and /or during visitation you will be asked to leave.
  • If the inmate is in holding only immediate family is allowed to see them, for example spouse (with proper identification), mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, son, daughter, sister or brother. NO ONE ELSEis allowed to see the inmate, NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
